Up-Cycled Tote bags for summer

We are big fans of up-cycling and have created a range of tote bags using upholstery fabric.

When we launched our Ballybar, one of the things that was important to us was sustainability. We love seeing and creating original materials, but we also see the value in repurposing items that already exist and would otherwise go to waste.

Over the last year, we have worked with a number of local businesses who are happy for us to take fabric off their hands that would otherwise be discarded. Typically this fabric is usually incorrect or over ordering by boutique soft furnishing manufacturers.  So the fabric is brand new, just not loved by a particular customer.

We teamed up with a local husband & wife team who waved their magic wand to make these, sturdy, go any where, do anything, timeless tote bags. 

These tote bags are perfect for days at the beach, weekends away or carrying books and groceries.

Most importantly they are made locally and sustainably!

Above all else, these totes have a good story. The new line of bags are made from recycled denim, cotton and polyester in the U.S.A., and come in 3 colour ways, Navy, Chestnut and Taupe. 

These thick cotton tote bags look like they'd be perfect for carrying spoils from the farmers market or on a picnic or even a baby bag! They're also stylish enough that you can use them as handbags cos heaven knows we have to bring the kitchen sink. 

And the best bit each purchase supports at least 4 small business owners and helps reduce waste, by making products out of existing materials.
