Women in Ag: Robbie Alman-Wilson — A Driving Force in Welsh Livestock Farming

Robbie Alman-Wilson has been named Wales Woman Farmer of the Year 2025, a well-deserved recognition of her outstanding contribution to Welsh farming and rural life.

Her journey began on her family’s beef and sheep farm in Gladestry, before she moved to her husband Dale’s family farm at The Cnwch in Llanbister in 2006. Since then, Robbie has played a leading role in shaping the direction of the farm — managing sheep and cattle enterprises that produce both high-quality commercial and pedigree stock.

With Dale often away running a busy scanning business, Robbie takes the lead in the day-to-day management of the farm, ensuring the stock, land, and business are run to the highest standards.

Their success speaks for itself: from class wins and championships at the Royal Welsh Show to top-price sales in Welshpool and Carlisle, Robbie’s eye for quality and passion for her animals have made the Cnwch name well known in breeding circles.

Beyond her own farm, Robbie is a trustee and committee member of the Dutch Spotted Sheep Society and a respected judge at some of the UK’s most prestigious shows.

Her leadership, determination, and dedication to high-quality farming embody exactly what our Women in Ag series celebrates — women who are not waiting for recognition, but earning it through hard work and quiet excellence every day.
