As part of our ongoing Women in Ag series, we’re celebrating women across Ireland and the UK who are shaping the future of agriculture — women who are breaking stereotypes, creating opportunity, and showing what it means to lead with confidence and heart.
From High Heels to Heifers — Ciara Lynch’s Journey from Marketing to Milking
After nearly a decade working in marketing with some of the world’s biggest brands, Ciara Lynch decided it was time for a change, a big one.
Swapping high heels and boardrooms for wellies and the milking parlour, the Co. Meath native has built a life that blends hard work, family, and a deep love of farming.
Farming in partnership with her husband, Ciara now manages the daily rhythm of dairy life, milking, herding (livestock and toddlers!), and helping raise the next generation on the land.
She completed her Green Cert while raising two babies, and even went on to win Student of the Year. That determination and grit have made her an inspiration to many, especially other women considering a move into agriculture.
Beyond the farm, Ciara volunteers with Dairy Women Ireland, advocating for visibility, support, and opportunities for women working in dairy.
“I love chatting to other women working in ag,” she says. “I’m always blown away by how welcoming and positive everyone is.”
Ciara’s journey is proof that sometimes the biggest career shifts lead to the most rewarding paths, and that you can truly create a life that fits you, not the other way around.
