Women in Ag Series: Sarah McIntosh – Telling the Stories that Matter

Sarah McIntosh, originally from Dublin, discovered her passion for agriculture on her grandparents’ dairy farm in Co. Wexford. That early spark has grown into a remarkable career in agricultural journalism, with Sarah now working as the Careers and Education Journalist on the Irish Country Living team.

In her role, Sarah travels across Ireland sharing stories that impact rural communities, from succession planning and career opportunities to sustainability and education in the sector. Her writing brings the realities of modern farming to life while inspiring the next generation of agri-professionals.

Beyond the pen, Sarah has chaired panels, hosted podcasts, conducted interviews, and engaged directly with students through school programmes. She is also a member of the Agricultural Science Association council, working to shape the future of sustainable agricultural and food sectors.

Sarah’s journey shows that you don’t need to come from a farming background to make a real impact, it takes passion, dedication, and the courage to follow your own path.
